Message from the President and CEO

Dr. Jodi Abbott

NorQuest is your community college and one of the most diverse colleges in Canada. NorQuest College is here to meet your needs no matter where you start from or where you live.

Start your quest for a rewarding career with us. For more than 45 years, NorQuest has provided students with the opportunity to succeed in a range of career programs in health and human services, and business and industry. We are committed to high-quality academics and teaching excellence, so you can be assured that a NorQuest certificate or diploma is recognized and respected by employers. We are also recognized for our foundation programming, which are designed to help you get into the programs and careers you wish to pursue. Our centres for excellence [link to CoE page] explore new ideas through applied research which not only improve our programming and services but also contribute to our communities and industries.

We are expanding the number of diploma and certificate programs that we offer. And while demand for our programs grows, access to our foundational and bridging programs remains a priority. Adult literacy, academic upgrading, English as a Second Language (ESL), Aboriginal education, and learner supports for students with disabilities ensure access to advanced education and careers is a reality.

NorQuest offers meaningful educational opportunities in a supportive environment where learners from diverse cultural, educational and social backgrounds can achieve their personal and career goals and enhance the quality of their lives. The College provides flexible alternatives like career laddering, recognition of prior learning, part-time career study and distance education.

NorQuest graduates are some of the most sought after graduates in Alberta and are the province’s front-line workers. College-wide employment rate for NorQuest graduates is over 96 per cent. If you are committed to succeed, we are committed to helping you gain the skills and confidence you need to be successful in today’s workplace!

NorQuest is Alberta’s largest community college with campuses in Edmonton, Wetaskiwin and Stony Plain. We also have learning sites in Camrose, Drayton Valley, Edson, Hinton, Jasper, Westlock and Whitecourt, and provide online distance learning across Canada. As the steward for this region of 1.3 million people, NorQuest’s role is to ensure access to post-secondary and foundational education. [insert regional map]

The College is making plans to accommodate the growing demand for the College’s programs for the next decade. Our vision is to create a vibrant Downtown Campus that consolidates our existing Edmonton locations to improve access for all learners to services, teaching technology and supportive learning space. A new building, the North Learning Centre, will double our existing capacity on site, providing state-of-the-art smart classrooms, labs, a daycare, a new library, food services and student activity space as well as underground parking.

At NorQuest College, our students are our number one priority. Through the excellence of our programs and the dedication and commitment of our faculty and support staff, we take pride in providing 10,000 students each year with the opportunity to accomplish their academic and career goals.

Thank you for exploring the possibilities at NorQuest College.
