Walking Together

NorQuest College is deeply committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit learners, guided by the spirit of ᐘᐦᑯᐦᑐᐏᐣ wahkohtowin, which speaks to kinship and interconnectedness. But how can Indigenous students truly experience wahkohtowin at NorQuest? That’s where Walking Together comes in.

Walk with us

With your support, Indigenous students can find belonging, opportunity, and the foundation they need to thrive at NorQuest and beyond.

Cultural support through miyo-pimâtisiwin

The miyo-pimâtisiwin Centre, meaning “to live a good life” in Cree, is a home away from home for Indigenous students. It’s a culturally grounded space for gathering, ceremony, academic support, Elder guidance, and connection.

Your donation helps keep this vital centre thriving.

Emergency funding

When crisis hits, students shouldn’t have to choose between their education and their basic needs. Emergency funding helps cover housing, food, transportation, and childcare, so Indigenous students in crisis can stay in school through life’s toughest moments.

Your support provides stability when it’s needed most.

Bursary awards

Bursaries ease the financial burden of tuition, textbooks, and fees, allowing students to focus on learning. Many also recognize academic achievement or community involvement.

Your gift opens doors to education, and a stronger future.

Make your gift today. Walk alongside Indigenous students. Help build a future rooted in wahkohtowin.

We know that a strong sense of belonging is essential to student’s ability to thrive, especially for those navigating post-secondary spaces that haven’t always been inclusive. For First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students, an absence of meaningful support and space to honour culture, community, and identity can make it difficult to feel connected at school. At the same time, financial barriers, like tuition, housing, and unexpected costs, can make it impossible to stay in school, stay focused, and move forward.
