Explore human dynamics in various settings in the criminal justice system. Study the characteristics unique to various cultures that have direct implications for persons involved in the criminal justice system.

Health Assessment

Learn and practise the procedures for obtaining a health history and conducting a physical examination. Assessment findings for normal structures and functions of the human body are identified. This course includes a laboratory component.

In this theory course you will gain an overview of the physical, social, psychological, environmental, and spiritual aspects of personal health and wellness within the context of the community, the Canadian health-care system, and the global environment. Explore lifestyle choices as a determinant of health, and physical and social determinants affecting personal health and the health of others. You will develop responsibility for your own health and learn how to advocate for the health of others.

Health Care Aide PLAR Assessment

The HCA PLAR process is for individuals currently employed as nursing attendants or personal support workers who believe they have sufficient skills and knowledge to meet the standards for a Health Care Aide certificate. Students have six months to complete the process.
