SERVICES FOR STAFF AND FACULTY

ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY (AT) AND EQUIPMENT

The AT lab in CELS is available to College employees who need specialized technology. Training and AT assessments are available and staff or faculty with disabilities may be eligible for funding to purchase their own equipment and/or software. Staff may also borrow equipment from CELS.

INTERPRETING/CART

Sign language interpreters are available for employees who are deaf to facilitate communication during meetings. Arrangements can be made to provide Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) for employees who are hard of hearing.

UNIVERSAL DESIGN

Staff in CELS is available to consult with College staff and faculty as they design barrier-free and accessible environments. Instructors are encouraged to contact CELS for information on building programs, courses and lessons that address the diversity they will encounter while teaching at the College. Staff considering the design of products, literature and environments may also consult with CELS staff to incorporate universal design principles. CELS staff welcomes the opportunity to share information on creating barrier-free access to NorQuest College’s diverse student and employee population.
