Roots and Connections on Shaw TV
An initiative of NorQuest College's Centre for Excellence in Intercultural Education, the Roots and Connections program is being profiled on Shaw TV this month.
Roots and Connections: Rural ESL Enhancement is a ready-to-use intercultural resource for teachers and volunteers in rural communities to help newcomers settle in a new country and a new community. The video conferencing featured in the Shaw segment enables program coordinators in Edmonton to connect and provide direction for their rural counterparts in a cost-effective and convenient way.
Roots and Connections is another facet of NorQuest's growing Centre for Excellence in Intercultural Education, which is dedicated to involving and transforming businesses and community organizations through customized, innovative and practical intercultural training grounded in applied research. It's part of the College's commitment to develop intercultural and communication competence in Canada.

NorQuest English in the Workplace instructor Erin Waugh was recently interviewed for a Government of Alberta website promoting interesting occupations in Alberta.
Alberta Learning Information Services produces a series of occupational videos aimed at high school and post-secondary students interested in similar career options.
