It begins with a description of electricity in a house and develops an understanding of the basics of the electrical system. The learning objective is to provide the learner with the skills necessary to assess the electrical component of a home in a professional home inspection.

This course begins with an illustrated description of architectural styles. Descriptions of wall systems, windows, and doors are included, along with a discussion about how to inspect and identify problems in these areas. Exterior structures and landscaping features are also addressed.

This course provides an introduction to residential heating systems, starting with a description of fuels and then focusing on furnaces and boilers. Modern combination systems are also discussed. Detailed instructions on operational tests, common failure modes, and life expectancies of various systems are included.

The heating discussion is continued with coverage of chimneys, wood heating, fireplaces, steam heating, electric heating systems, and space heaters. The information is presented using clear diagrams that illustrate the make-up and functioning of these heating methods. Again, this course concentrates on inspection strategies, test procedures, and problem identification.

This course focuses on two different parts of the home. The first section addresses home insulation and ventilation systems. Modern building standards are explained along with the principles of heat transfer. The section on interiors addresses floor, wall, and ceiling finishes as well as stairs, windows, doors, and wet basements. How things are built, what goes wrong and why it matters are all addressed.

The plumbing course is broken into four segments: supply piping, water heaters, waste piping, and plumbing fixtures. This course is an introductory class focused on the operation, as well as basic care and maintenance, of a variety of lawn care equipment. The course will allow students to discuss and identify the appropriate operation, maintenance and proper use of equipment, as well as establish the underlying tenets of proper lawn care.

Lean Application Specialists are developed specifically for the manufacturing industry so the employees doing the work understand how to prioritize process improvement opportunities and understand how to apply Lean tools to their business processes to ensure understanding and process improvements are realized. The course is designed to follow the adult learning model TPAR (Train-Plan-Apply-Review).

This training helps with quickly implementing major cultural change in an organization by educating staff on basic Lean tools and techniques. Training is conducted on site so the tools and techniques can be applied as they are learned on the plant floor, construction site or administration areas. Training will be conducted over seven day. A certificate of completion is provided.

Lean Master Trainer is a position within manufacturing at the management level that assists in creating a self-sustaining Lean organization. The Lean Master Training has the ability to provide instruction to the Lean Application Specialists and provide guidance and mentorship on the application of Lean tools. The training requires the Lean Master Trainer to complete a minimum of four approved Lean projects and complete three days of training and provide instruction on the Lean Specialist course. The days of mentorship to achieve the Lean Master Trainer will be customized to meet the organizations desired outcomes.

Builds on the skills learned in Green Belt Training and is designed for individuals who work full-time as a process improvement practitioner within an organization. The Lean Six Sigma Black Belts are provided the training to deal with complex cross functional projects. Instruction is application focused, requiring learners to successfully complete two projects while completing the classroom and certification portion of the training. The focus of the instruction is knowledge transfer demonstrated by real time application of technical problem solving skills. 

A Champion is a leadership position that provides the support required for process improvement projects to be successful. This training session will provide designated “Champions” with an understanding of how this role impacts the efforts and success of an organization’s process improvement initiatives.

This course will teach you how to conduct a Variable Design of Experiments (DOE), which is a scientific process of controlling inputs to a plan that will yield statistically useful results. DOE allows the experimenter to study the effect of many factors that may influence the product or process simultaneously. With DOE, the experimenter changes the input variables of the process to observe and measure changes in the Y variables.

The goal of DOE is to establish a Prediction Equation that will enable us to optimize our process. The key is to find a DOE design that will produce the information required at a minimum cost.
