Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) - Overview

Program Overview

Are you new to Canada? The LINC program may be for you. You will benefit from instruction in the language skills you need to integrate into community life and work in Canada. You can develop your English language proficiency at the level you need and progress at your own rate.

Tuition for LINC is funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. There are no fees or tuition for elgible students.

Career Potential

Students will have the language skills and settlement knowledge necessary to successfully integrate into the Canadian community and pursue further education or career options.

Full-time (FT), Part-time (PT), Distance, Online

LINC Rural Delivery

  • improve your English language ability to an intermediate (LINC 4) level with individual, self-paced, part-time courses
  • continuous intakes

LINC Home Study

  • offered as an addition to students already in LINC Rural Delivery program
  • can be taken independently
  • Allows students to study from their home using high-speed Internet or a correspondence book and CD and scheduled weekly telephone lessons with an instructor.
  • designed for student at LINC 2 up to LINC 5

LINC Rural Delivery

  • designed for recent immigrants who live in small urban centres or in rural areas in northern Alberta (north of Ponoka, AB)
