Admission Guide
Edmonton is the capital city of the province of Alberta. It is a safe and friendly city of one million people with hundreds of parks and recreational sites. Edmonton has a lot to offer including a variety of restaurants, galleries, museums, festivals, theatres, sporting events, and recreational activities. The nightlife in Edmonton is also fun and exciting. Look forward to dinner theatres, movie theatres, dance clubs, live jazz and blues bands, comedians, and concerts.
NorQuest College is a public, postsecondary institution serving 10,000 students annually. We accept applications from individuals around the world. Serving students from 125 countries, NorQuest offers a truly diverse, multicultural learning experience. Most of the programs and courses described in our calendar are available to international students.
NorQuest College offers over 40 years’ experience serving more than 500 ESL students from around the world each year. NorQuest provides extensive facilities including modern computer and language labs, a listening centre, and the largest ESL library in Edmonton. The main campus is conveniently located in downtown Edmonton, near shopping, restaurants, and public transportation. Our highly qualified instructors and extensive student support services will help you reach your goals.
NorQuest College offers excellent diploma and certificate programs geared toward preparing students for immediate entry into the workplace. If you need to upgrade your current academic level to meet entrance requirements for diploma or certificate programs, we can help. International Student Fees
International tuition fees are generally higher in each course or program. Book costs, the program and supplies fee, the technology fee, and Students’ Association fees are the same for both Canadian and international students. Contact the International Education coordinator or visit international.norquest.ca for the most up-to-date fee and program information.
General Admission Requirements
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. You must obtain Canadian medical insurance, which can be purchased upon your arrival in Canada. You must meet the admission requirements for the program to which you are applying.
Application dates vary from program to program. We recommend that you apply early, as study permits may take several months to process.
Applying as an International Student
- Complete and submit the application for admission form. You may also apply online at www. norquest.ca/applynow. Please note that application fees must be paid by credit card for all online applications.
- Pay the non-refundable $100 CAD application fee. The application fee is not applied to tuition.
- Once your application for admission form and application fee are received, we will send you a letter acknowledging your application, and giving you information on your next step, such as submission of transcripts or appropriate documentation.
- Mail the required documentation and a $500 CAD non-refundable, non-transferable tuition deposit to:

- Once your tuition deposit is paid, an Official Letter of Admission will be issued by NorQuest College. The Official Letter of Admission is needed to obtain a study permit or student visa for a program longer than six months. Contact the Canadian embassy or consulate in your home country for details or check online at www.cic.gc.ca
NorQuest College reserves the right to grant or refuse admission to any individual. Applicants who are not accepted in a program will be advised of the reason and may be offered assistance in choosing another program.
Cancelling Your Application
Your tuition deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. Cancellation of your application prior to the program start date will result in the forfeit of your deposit. However, if you are unable to obtain a Study Permit or Student Visa prior to your program start date, you are eligible to receive a full refund of your tuition deposit, less a $50 administration fee.
Withdrawing from a Program
