What to expect
Join NorQuest’s Indigenous cultural and culinary educators for a unique Indigenous experience. Through ceremony, teachings and hands-on demonstrations, you will deepen your understanding of the connection between food, the land, and Indigenous Culture.
This experience, hosted in NorQuest’s Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation Hospitality Institute, includes:
- Teachings by Lance Scout, NorQuest’s Indigenous Cultural advisor. Lance will guide you through some of his teachings, sharing his thoughts on ‘the good life’, tradition, and community connection.
- Hands-on cooking demo of tasty Indigenous fare, with our red-seal chef and instructor Cindy Lazarenko. Cindy has the unique ability to combine her background as an Edmonton restaurateur, her experience as an instructor, and her Métis heritage to bring this culinary experience to life.
- A shared feast at the end of the program! While you eat, learn how to shop for local produce, where to find locally made ingredients, and how to support local Indigenous businesses.
Note: dietary needs can be accommodated upon request.
