Lilliana Jakira Villalta, known as Lilli, is a second-generation refugee and a proud Nahua Indigenous person from Central America. She is deeply committed to supporting and advocating for marginalized and underrepresented communities, with a focus on advancing equity, inclusion, and representation.

Lilli has been actively engaged in outreach organizations that address the challenges faced by Indigenous peoples in Canada, including the Water Warriors and the Canadian Native Friendship Centre. She has also contributed to broader community initiatives such as the emergency homeless winter shelter, the El Salvador Cultural Association of Edmonton, SASSI (Student Access to Specialized Support for Inclusion), and various advocacy campaigns.

With professional experience as a health care aide, Lilli developed a strong passion for supporting individuals with medical conditions, fostering independence, and promoting bodily autonomy. These experiences have shaped her deep understanding of the importance of advocacy and holistic support in breaking down systemic barriers.

Driven by a passion for justice and equality, Lilli views her role in post-secondary student governance as an opportunity to expand her knowledge and continue amplifying underrepresented voices. She is committed to creating a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
