Patricia Eidem's life was a testament to the transformative power of education. As a dedicated elementary school teacher, she touched the lives of countless students in Drumheller before returning to Edmonton to continue her career. Her passion for education was evident in her approach—working tirelessly in the “resource room” at Windsor Park Elementary School to provide individualized support and guidance to students, embodying a commitment to helping each child reach their full potential. A lover of music and the arts, Patricia ran the school choir and is remembered for being a doting, attentive instructor, always going the extra mile for those in her care.
Throughout their 67 years of marriage, Patricia and Dr. Eidem shared a deep love for learning and a mutual dedication to nurturing the minds and hearts of future generations. Their shared belief in the importance of education became a cornerstone of their family values, shaping the paths of their children and grandchildren, many of whom followed in their footsteps as educators.

When asked about the significance of Patricia's generous gift to our Practical Nursing program, Dr. Eidem spoke passionately about Patricia’s desire to uplift learners, particularly those from underserved communities. With a special connection to Métis learners through their daughter-in-law, Rhonda, Patricia Eidem saw an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting aspiring nurses on their educational journey.
For Patricia, this gift was about more than just providing financial assistance—it was a chance to empower ambitious students who may not have had access to opportunities otherwise. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives that will be touched and transformed by her generosity, as well as through the ongoing efforts to support Métis learners and advance education at NorQuest College.
